German version Last changed: July 2009 The late Neolithic Tisza culture was named after the east Hungarian river Tisza which rises in Ukraine from the two headstreams Black Tisza and White Tisza and flows into the Danube south of Novi Sad. Numerous locations of the culture can be found along the Tisza and its tributaries (especially the Körös and the Berettyó in the east and the Zagyva in the west).

Our tour today led us through one of the most beautiful regions of Bulgaria: first to Karnobat and from there across the Riški pass to Šumen. The flight was a little delayed, so we had to rush everything in Frankfurt to catch our trains. Matthas’ way home was blocked by a tree that had fallen onto the rails during a hail storm.
